Stage 3. France. Amettes to Pontarlier

From Amettes, I use a bike to travel to Switzerland.  It is the first time I have been a bike Pilgrim. The Via Francigena goes through former mining areas of France, then to the battlefields of the First World War.   Onwards to the Jura,  and through some little known towns of the French North East, to Besançon and Pontarlier which will lead to the Swiss Border.

I will be glad to be back on my feet in Switzerland.
